COMP:FUNCTION FOR THE COMPARISON OF PROPERTIES

Definition: The function COMP generates a new property by comparing the original property with 1.an object, with 2. another gradable property, or with 3. a measurement. In general, the new property is not gradable anymore.
e.g.: “The algorithm A is more effective than the algorithm B.” (without additional restriction.)
e.g.:“A nuclear power station is more advantageous than a thermal power station, with regard to efficiency.” (with contextual restriction)

Example

Trade is more elaborate than piracy.

There is no function for generating less-like meaning. So the above example is also the annotation of the following sentence:

Piracy is less elaborate than trade.
