MODS: Modification of a Situational Concept

Definition: The function MODS is used to modify a situation (mostly an action) and to generate a new modified situation by means of a specifier.
The function MODS is mainly used to express gradations of the intensity or extent of situations.
e.g. “A slight heating of the material has already caused small fissures.”

The function MODS can also be used to express certain quantitative modifications by distance.
e.g. “100-m run”
The construction of terms with MODS expresses that the newly generated action has a different conceptual quality than the original. “100-m run” describes a special concept in sports.
