**Definition**: The expression ''(s GOAL g)'' specifies that the object ''g'' is the general aim or goal of ''s'', where ''s'' is typically a situation. The relation ''GOAL'' is superordinate to the relations [[DIRCL]], [[PURP]], and – to a certain extent – to the relation [[RSLT]]. The relation ''GOAL'' is extended to sort ''o'' with regard to the first argument, since also objects (e.g. persons) can have goals.
